The BLS Providers Skills Session (Parts 2 & 3) is for anyone who has taken and completed the American Heart Association HeartCode BLS online course and needs to do the hands-on skills portion of the course.

In Parts 2 and 3, students will demonstrate proficiency in providing BLS skills, including prioritizing chest compressions and integrating AED use. Successful completion of BLS for Healthcare Providers include three course parts :

  1. Part 1, online portion-students should bring the certificate of completion as evidence of successful completion of the online portion.
  2. Part 2, a hands-on skills practice session with our authorized AHA BLS Instructor.
  3. Part 3, a skills test with our authorized AHA BLS Instructor.

A course completion card will be issued to successful participants same day.

Audience: The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course is 8-hours and designed specifically to meet California state EMSA requirements for Licensed child care providers.The training  includes Pediatric First Aid and CPR AED use in Adult, Child & Infants Child care providers and others will learn to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. This course is for those involved in child care who have a duty to respond to a first aid emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. Thie course is ideal for child care workers, teachers, foster care workers, camp counselors, youth organizations and coaches for children’s sports organizations. Also, parents, grandparents, babysitters and guardians will benefit from the content of this course.

Content / Modules: The course covers the Four Steps of First Aid (Prevent, Be Safe, Phone 911, Act) and pediatric first aid skills such as finding the problem, stopping bleeding, bandaging, allergic reactions, how to use Epinephrine pen, asthma, drowning, bites and stings, burns as well as child CPR AED and infant CPR .
